When you use your mind and someone could puch or kick you anywhere in your body and you wouldnt feel a thing, including the neck and crotch areas and they would swell up or nothing. What kind of martial arts is that? Just curious

You know, they know that they are able to dominate you and they believe they can have their way with you in the future. Maybe it is best not to fight so they will never know if they can repeatedly dominate you. You see the logic here?

Now that I have your attention, I'd like some opinions on a fight club that a friend and I are starting. We got the idea recently when we were purchasing some boxing gloves. It struck me like lightning, "Dude, we need to start a fight club." So now he and I have it in our heads to carry this through. Starting off we are going to recruit fighters in our circle of friends and later on, slowly gain new members. My friend posted a similar question to this one and no we are not 14 year old underweights trying to act macho. I myself am in it for the, fun, competition, and fitness that comes from boxing. But of course we'll allow more than conventional boxing, other styles and forms are acceptable. Also we will be concerned with safety as we will be wearing gloves and mouthgaurds, and will have a first aid kit on hand. After we get enough fighters we will train, have fights, and when everyone is ready we will have matches with spectators. Gambling will be allowed, but 10% goes to the club.

I dont exactly plan to do this tomorow... but it is a vision, and want to hear from other people if its a good idea, or a bad one.

In my area... you have Judo, Ju-Jitsu (japanese and brazilian), Sombo, and Aikido.

All are 'Jacketed' form of grappling and I am starting to get tired of there style of 'wrestling'. The things I do and learn are not really allowed in some arts, and I often think about creating a class to resolve it.

I have my own views for my class.
* There will be no Gi (uniform).
* No holds are barred.
* Belts dont exsist... it is all based on your overall experiance..
* This is a class to come to for proper self defence... or learn how to fight.

I do know my stuff, and I believe I can be a good teacher... but do you think this will cause 'issues' with the other styles above.

Anyone welcome to answer if they have an opinion... and thank you for reading!!!!

I prefer martial arts which require lots of moving about. I used to be a black belt in tae kwon do. Kinda intend on learning another art.

Does anyone with a recommendation for a good martial arts school in Central NJ.

I studied a version of Shotokan Karate for several years and I'm looking for a new dojo. I'm looking for a serious school (not one of these franchises or fly-by-night places) to restart my study.

The specific style doesn't matter

I go to a judo class in newark every week and the sports hall is devided into 2. In one half is our Judo clas and the other half is taken by a Karate class. When I watch the Karate class I get so annoyed. When they practice they do lots of spinny kicks and weak punches that would be next to useless in a self defence situation yet they do all this shouting 'hiii-yaaaaa!' and walk around with their sleaves rolled up thinking they are the bees knees. They also never break a sweat while we at the judo club work hard and sweat blood & tears. The other thing is that they have all these little kids (from about the age of 10) running around wearing black belts! I mean come on be serious! Does anyone out there do karate and actually think that it is worth while doing and if so why?
