I'm a 1st Dan in ITF Tae Kwon-Do, but want to take up another Art whilst at university. This means stopping TKD for a few months each time, so I'd like the new sessions to focus on kicks and flexibility - to keep me in shape. I don't really want to go through gradings etc again, so wondered if any martial art's would match this! I'm currently considing capoeira...

Thanks
xxx

I do knuckle pushups and I already know how to punch.
I just need ways to condition my fist without causing permanent damage.

Here is your card:

Chuck Liddell Vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral

Forrest Griffin Vs. Stephan Bonnar

Cheick Kongo Vs. Christian Wellisch

Hermes Franca Vs. Jamie Varner

Wes Combs Vs. Wilson Gouveia

Cory Walmsley Vs. David Heath

Rob MacDonald Vs. Eric Schafer

Yushin Okami Vs. Alan Belcher

Who wins and a short explanation of how (left hook, armbar submission, etc.) Winner is determined by who picks the most fights. If there is a tie then its by whoever knew how the most times.

Let's get it on!

I see a lot of people touting the exploits of TKD, judo, karate, jujitsu, kick boxing and such. I have no issues with any of these but never see people talking about Kung fu and styles they study.

Me personally I've studied Shuia-Chiao, Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis, and Hung Gar Kuen along with a smattering of Yuan style Tai Chi.

Man I hate to blow 5 points by asking a question, but figured I would try it out. This is mainly for those people who everytime someone comes on the Y!Answers and asks what martial art should they learn you answer "Aikido"

"What art should I learn to learn how to throw" you say "Aikido"

"What art should I learn for self defense" you say "Aikido"

What art is fast paced and will go with my TKD background" you say "Aikido"

First, have you ever taken Aikido? Second, have you spent actual time training in Aikido, or know exactly what Aikido is about? Third, have you ever actually used Aikido on a resisting opponent under an andrenaline situation? Last, why do you think Aikido is the answer for everything?

I'm just curious, I am a lowly level 2 who has answered some questions, and am always baffled at the amount of Aikido nuthugging that I see for answers here, and was just curious why so many people are all about Aikido.

For the record, I studied Aikido for two years.

The self defense laws in most countries only allow you to retalliate if you have already had an aggressor try to physically harm you. Suppose, like in fuedal Japan and Europe you were allowed to post and accept challenges from someone who had insulted and/or dishonoured you. (It wouldn't necessarily have to be to the death as long as there was a clear winner). That it developed independently in such different cultures would seem to show there was/is a need for it? Suppose instead of rampant gang wars, each gang nominated a contendor to represent them in a duel instead. How many lives could this save?

The Chinese Mob was much like the Mafia but more dominating in every business in China. Bruce would beat the crap out of the messengers and those who dared threaten him. He was at the peak of his form when he suddenly died...best shape of his life...just finished filming Enter the Dragon and was about to finish Game of Death!

They have similar styles and they are both Chinese . Both have studied various forms of Kung Fu,Gung Fu,Wing Chung, and western boxing. They also are both extremely fast and powerful. This would be a beautiful sparing match to see....aaaahhhhhh!!!
