I'm looking for places to practice martial arts in Japan, particularly Osaka. Any idea how I can find them?

Go to your municipal Budokan and take it from there. At a Budokan all different groups use the same facilities for different styles. If you can't understand Japanese, your closest international centre or ward office can help you get in touch with the right people.

They are everywhere. It is best to go and visit one, take a gift to the Sensei, and ask permission for you to train there. It's better if you know someone there. It may take a few days for the instructor to get back to you and don't be suprised if he says no or doesn't get back with you at all.
Go and make some friends and don't expect them to be impressed by anything you've learned. They invented this stuff!
Unless they ask, don't show them how "we" do it. Do it their way and learn from it. Be ready to work on one kata or one move for hours at a time.

Godd luck and have fun training.
