I'm 16 and male, and I lift weights. I don't necessarily want to learn how to "kick someone's a**" (although that would be nice to include, too). What I really want to learn is how do defend myself in as many situations as possible, as well as the philosophy behind the art form.

What form of martial art should I learn?
What is the best way to learn that form?

Thank you!

Who thinks that Matt Hughes is fighting too soon off a win?? Less then 2 months later, come on? Although he handed it to B.J. Penn, let the guy enjoy his victory. what are your thoughts?

Diego said he'd like to fight Chris Leben. if they hookup Diego would going up to Middleweight.

I'd Leben to win. but... Leben would need to stuff Sanchez's takeouts to avoid his submissions. if not... he's probably going to lose. but Leben has a good change of knocking out Sanchez with some wild heavy punches if he can avoid it.

What are your thought on this possible matchup?

(Don't use Anderson Silva Demantling of Leben an example he man is in another class from the current crop of UFC fighters.)

i didnt see last nights PPV, but silva seems to be in a class by himself.

i saw his record had 5 losses, who did he lose to? was he just young and inexperienced in the losses? would a wrestler-type fighter have a better chance againt silva than a striker?

I don't take anything away from Rich Franklin cause he is one of the best well-rounded true fighters in UFC, but his striking ability was no where near as good as Anderson Silva's.

With your skills and martial arts training, could you go into a competition like the ufc and pound a guys face in with elbows for money? I admier these men who fight, because they have a lot to teach about courage, spirit, discipline, and skill, but I personally could not bring myself to severely hurt another man for profit. Could you hurt a man for money and fame?
