i didnt see last nights PPV, but silva seems to be in a class by himself.

i saw his record had 5 losses, who did he lose to? was he just young and inexperienced in the losses? would a wrestler-type fighter have a better chance againt silva than a striker?

Opponents? Don't you mean victims?

According to Matt Hughes' blog, he said that if Anderson won he would consider moving up in the weight division to fight him. Wouldn't that be interesting? I think that Matt should focus on not getting beat up by George St. Pierre and not worry about Anderson.

Hughes vs. Silva would be a great fight though. I would love to see Hughes get beat senseless.

By the way, I am absolutely with you. I would rather not win the UFC Comeback than have to face Silva. No thanks... I like my nose just the way it is.

Mike Swick will probably be his next opponent. Silva previously lost to Luis Azeredo in his first fight back in 2000. He also lost to Daiji Takase (2003), Ryo Chonan (2004), and Yushin Okami (2006). The fight he lost earlier this year was due to an illegal kick that he delivered and got disqualified for. I don't know who the 5th figher was. The fights he lost were on different venues than UFC so there were different fighters and rules. A straight wrestler type won't have a chance against Silva, but a well-rounded fighter who has a wrestling background would have a chance.

I wonder who the TUF4 fighters will be fighting now. The deal was that they would fight Franklin for the title. Will the fight Franklin or will they fight for the title against Silva.

Silva's losses:
Yushin Okami 1/20/06 by DQ - illegal kick
Ryo Chonan 12/31/04 by sub
Daiju Takase 6/8/03 by sub
Luiz Azeredo 5/7/00 by decision

I would like to see Loiseau and Silva. There are rumors that Matt Hughes will step up and fight him. I think a wrestler type fighter vs. Silva would be good. Silva usually wins by KO or TKO. He doesn't often submit people. If someone could get him wrapped up on the ground....

First of all Silva as has a GREAT ground game being trained and pronounced a master by the nogiera brothers in jiu-jitsu.

If Dana white wants to get the belt back in the hands of an english speaking competitor then they need to sign Matt Lindland or by some act of God get Dan Henderson into a contract

Well Franklin will most likely initiate his rematch clause, the winner of TUF 4 and you're right saying that winner will get killed if Silva is still champion, a rematch with Chris Leban would bring in viewers & Leban has paid his dues to marit a title shot, Evan Tanner, & Mike Swick if he really wants to get his *** beat badly by Silva since he's crying for a title shot.

I would LOVE to see Tito Ortiz fight Silva, even though they are in different weight classes. Personally, I think the only man in the UFC capable of handling Silva is Ortiz. Silva made Rich Franklin look like a novice.

Either Mike Swick or TUF 4 middleweight winner.

I can see Patrick Cote beating Silva. Far fetched, I know, but anything is possible.

For the person above me: They will fight the champion of their weight class.

Yushin Okami as he has been waiting in the wings for an prolonged time and is actual deserving. it extremely is a shame he has been sidelined with an injury and ought to combat Dean Lister on the undercard of UFC ninety two. I additionally think of that Nate Marquardt could desire to be a solid contended lower back too after damn off a string of magnificent victories. using the UFC's fallacious no-score shape for matchmaking Demian Maia could desire to get a call shot quickly sufficient although i could be attracted to seeing him combat a solid sprawl and brawler say Dan Henderson or somebody like that.

Either Mike Swick or someone with excellent ground skills
because one of the best strikers in the UFC got his face crushed

I'm not sure who'll be next for Silva, but he'd better not try to stand up with him. I haven't seen Silva on the ground yet, but he's dynamite standing up! I can't believe how easily he defeated Rich Franklin.
