Silva absolutely dominated this match. Franklin was like a puppet being manhandled by Silva. Looked like Franklin may have suffered a broken nose in the short period of the fight.

Not surprised at all.
When Anderson destroyed Leban without breaking a sweat, I was sure that he would beat Franklin too. I think most people are surprised that he did it so quickly and with very little resistance from Franklin. The guy had no defence to the clinch and looked like a complete amateur.
It could be that being injured has messed with his head and threw him off his game. I don't think any of it really matters though. If Franklin was completely healthy and focused, I still think that Anderson would have dominated him and the outcome would have been the same. The only difference may have been the amount of time it took him to take him out.

This is a very tough situation for Franklin to be in. Before Silva came to town, he was the only Middleweight around with his talent. He was unbeatable. Now, the middleweight division consists of Silva, decently below him Franklin, then everyone else. I can't think of a middleweight in ANY organization that can take Silva. So, Franklin is in a tough spot. He's better then everybody except for 1 guy. And not just slightly better then everybody, but outclassing them by far. It's hard to see Franklin moving weight classes. He's the best fighter in middleweight, with the exception of Silva. He's already dominant in this weight class. I don't see him moving just for the chance to actual win a belt. No way can he move up to LHW. He's too small and not strong enough. Rampage would eat him alive, as would several other LHW. I suppose he could move down, but he's already trim. He'd have to lose a ton of muscle in order to drop down. So, Franklin has 4 choices. 1) Stay a MW and be content that he will always be a SOLID second best. 2) Move up to LHW and get his *** handed to him 3) Move down and lose a good amount of power. 4) Retire I see him choosing option 1

Hell yes. I was shocked. Not because I thought that Franklin was better than Silva or vice versa but for some reason, I just didn't think it would end as quickly as it did. I expected, at least, 5 rounds and a decision but nothing that fast.
