You try to increase your flexibility fast you will hurt your self and will end up having surgery to fix what you rip apart. There is no real fast way to do this. Just work on it daily and you will get there. Remember that martial Arts is patience, hard work and great rewards "in time".

Unfortunately you can't get complete flexibility, ie a full split stretch in a week or two because you risk serious injury or even permanent damage to your muscle tissue, it takes at least a couple of months of daily stretching to get the full range of motion, IF you stick with it; pushing yourself a little more if you feel too comfortable at a higher level of stretching than where you began
Continuing the daily routine is equally necessary to maintain the flexibility, as you will lose SOME flexibility, but by stretching daily, you won't lose as much as you would by not doing the stretching.
do a good warmup first by running, or doing jumping jacks, and situps, anything to get the blood circulating properly, then do your stretching exercises, and remember to change it up a bit every couple of weeks because your body will get used to the muscle memory and it'll be more difficult doing the same stretching techniques every time you stretch in the same exact order or don't try something new.

The only way to increase flexibility is to do it every day. You can even do it multiple times a day depending on how much time you have to dedicate. Buy a book on stretching to get a good idea of the almost unlimited stretching exercises that are available. If you consistently stretch every day you will see results quickly. Results come from consistency.

do stretching everyday, here is what I did to become super flexible:
1) stradle stretch, i think that everyon knows how to do this, bit I do it diffrently, when you go down to touch you toe, reach over you head with the other arm.
2) Herkiw Stretch, one leg out straight with one bent behing and touch you toe, you should feel it in you calf area, do this with each leg.
3) Pikes, put bothe feet out and front of you and try to grab onto your heels, then flex you feet and try to lift them off the ground.
4) Lunge, like going down in the splits but jsut stretching, leaning forward, while down on one knee then go into your splits.
5) Hold each stretch for 10 seconds and do the routine twice!, every day!
