I have been trying to get one together at my work place. Many are interested, no one shows-up! What can I do to encourage people to join?

First of all are you qualified to teach either one?
If not then give it up. If so you need to contact your province or state agency that governs those sports and register your gym with them. And if your doing it in your back yard/basement, that's ilegal. Try offering the first 3 months free if they pay for a yeaer up front. And show them your credentials otherwise you'll seem like that guy who is just trying to start as fight club.
