Is it realistic to expect the fortunes of the team to increase as a result of adding one very good, famous player? Isn't it unrealistic? They're paying a fortune and Mr. Beckam walks away a lot better off in the bank regardless of what happens to the team. He's got nothing to loose but they could be ruined if there's no positive results.

Just curious, because I'm personally an avid fan of this sport and I hate that it has to be named like that, "soccer"....did Americans name it like that to distinguish it from their American football?? or was it always named like that??

I'm asking this here because after all the sport was officially created in England....

I like soccer but I don't think one big name player is going to make much difference in how the average person in America views the game.

Bonus question: Have you had enough of Posh already? She just got here and I'm tired of her already.

I dont. I see a million commercials on ESPN and myself and everyone I know, none of us give a damn about it. I wouldnt notice if soccer fell of the face of the earth here, but maybe its just me.

Many times i see little kids being coached in soccer . You don't see this alot with latinos. But latinos have soccer passion and they play as a hobby.

Just because the American white kids get special training, are they better than latinos.. or it doesn't really help them beat latinos?

In North American basketball, football, baseball, hockey, etc. you always see multi-player and multi-team deals that sometimes involve direct cash transactions. In European soccer, it's always the rights to one player being purchased by one club, then that player signing a contract with the new team. Sometimes teams can get players on free (Bosman) transfers, but it still seems like it's always single-player, single-team transactions.
