i hope so i love beckham and he is one of the best soccer players nowadays. he will bring a lot of publicity to soccer at first and hopefully they will show more games on tv. soccer is the world's "most famous sport" or somethin like that. us ignorant americans r just 2 stupid 2 watch it. after the initial publicty fades, many will fall from watchin soccer and it will go back 2 bein a little higher than normal. o and ya i am so over posh. and the spice girls r goin back on tour??? but i still think she is hot.

US soccer does not need saving. We have a stable and growing league with a profitable business model. Our national team while not a cup contender yet, have qualified for five straight world cups. The world cup gets huge TV ratings, and keeps increasing with each event at a time when ratings for other sports are in decline.
Beckham has been brought here to make the league and US soccer a little more popular, not to save them.

Didn't know US Soccer needed saving. We just dominated the Gold Cup and U20s are doing quite well in the U20 World Cup. MLS has been around for a while now and while its not dominating the US sporting world it hasn't fallen on its face yet either. Beck will have an impact on with both the coverage and his play on the game but it will not suddenly make the LA Galaxy unbeatable nor will it propel Soccer past Baseball in US interests.

I think Beckham is one of the best players ever but I don't think he'll change that many Americans opinions on Soccer, Pele didn't. I think Beckham should have stayed in Europe, I don't think he'll make the England Squad playing in the US

Is it drowning?
Beckham has and will continue to open new doors in the US and MLS. We're not gonna get Ronaldinho or Cristiano Ronaldo soon but maybe some day. America needs a reason to watch before the enjoyment.

i'm someone who has never watched a u.s. soccer game, whether it be in person or on tv. i have watched a few international games on tv. i have to admit, that with beckham, i do want to watch u.s. soccer now. the first few games, they'll make a ton because people are just interested. after that, if he plays extremely well, he will save soccer.

Was their ever US soccer? No. People are talking more about the US womens team's uniforms than that of their play. Soccer is not a popular sport in the US.
I would rather see Posh than soccer.
