They didn't show up. I suppose they were kidnapped. LOL.

I cannot believe that Argentina lost, either. It seemed to be one of the best teams they have had in years. I think part of it has to do with the conservative way they tried to play Brazil. They did not display the attacking football that put them in the finals to begin with, which might come from the fact that the Argentina players always seems to play with a chip on their shoulder whenever Brazil comes to town. Brazil played very well defensively, too. Gilberto Silva did a great job of shutting down Riquelme and Messi, and the defense seemed to dominate the passing lanes and marked well. The Ayala thing was weird, and it is probably one of those things even he cannot explain, but that seemed right to him at the time.
It was a dissapointing loss for Argentina. However, the talent is definitely there if Argentina would be more willing to invest in its attacking game. However, I do think that Argentina is going to need either a better defensive system, or to cultivate better defensive players. That is their biggest weakness, and one that Brazil identified and exploited yesterday.

If you saw their last encounter in a friendly, you'll notice the identical final score. It was a disastrous display. I think Basile should hand in his resignation, because oldschool tactics simply don't work in the modern game. You have to play ugly sometimes; whatever it takes to win. Physically, the Brazilians were at a major advantage, so they played it from there. Shutting out Riquelme, meant the fullbacks had to reinforce the offensive midfield and beyond. Of course, this was a recipe for classic Brazilian counterattacks. The final result is really no surprise when you compare the formations both teams were using, and also if you saw their friendly match back in September of last year.

Sonfai81 is right, Dunga used the best tactics and it worked out.
Did you notice how closely Brazil was marking Argentina?
And when ever Brazil gets the ball they spread out and long pass it. It came straight out of the training field.
Each Brazilian player played his part and Argentina was just too intimidated.
Heinze was playing as a striker thats why the third goal was scored.
I also think Argentina didn't want it enough, the Brazilians showed heart.

I was cheering for Argentina because they have been playing well throught the tournament. But Brazil had a good defensevie strategy to stop Riquelme and Messi. Hence, the lost.
The early goal is what did for Argentina. Maybe next time.

He might have gained the activity for them. i do no longer think of Maridonna became into there, yet there ya flow. Germany with the aid of far a great group and argentina did play a competent activity agaisnt group. yet they have by no skill lost a penelty shoot out in 30 years so ya be attentive to......

Goes to show that rank, A team B team Z team, what happened last world cup, what day it is, where's waldo, and Oprahs monthly cycle have NOTHING to do with what happens game day. Of course I told Argentina supporters right after the US game that they better be concerned about how they played an inferior US squad. This is why.
