What is done is done! VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER!
Give me a break...can't you just turn around and insult back. Someone obviously has issues!
FIFA WORLD CUP IS OVER...THE CHAMPIONS ARE THE ITALIANS! GET OVER IT! YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE RESULT!

I read on Wikipedia that A.S. Roma began singing the riff. I'm surprised the White Stripes's song would be so internationally popular. What a strange song to sing if this is true!

Would they reprimand Materazzi or penalize the team? The game is over and Italy won so what can they do?

so far I have heard about a dozen different stories about what Materazzi said to Zidane ..from calling him a terrorist, to calling him a dirty muslim to insluitng his mother and family etc,,,,,,, wow in that 2 second conversation they had on the field Materazzi must have spoken really fast to say all those things!!!!

Can you guys just let it go!!! ANd stop making the false accusations against Materazzi.

Perhaps he was telling Zidane where to go for anger management!

Let them play on until someone finally scores, back up the PK spot so that the PK isn't just a matter of guessing which way to dive? Something needs to be done. That game was unacceptable.

There's countless questions on here regarding what was actually said to provoke *that* headbutt.... but what I want to know, is in what language was Materazzi speaking? He is Italian, Zidane is French, so what language did Materazzi use?

France was the last to enter the club in '98, but who will be next? Holland? Portugal? An African nation? Mexico? Give me your ideas.

I'm not trying to defend him, he can go to hell for all I care but we don't know what the Italian player said to him, if it was me and he said something about my family or my country I think I would have done much more than what he did, I would have beat the crap out of the dude specially if I know I'm going to retire from the sport..who cares about the awards or what people would say!!!

I know that Germany had the go ahead since 2000, and that the next one is in South Africa, what about 2014? Do they make a list and take turn between countries? Or is it decided one world cup at a time?

Obviously its not so out of character considering he did it to Jochen Kientz in the game between Juventus Turin and Hamburger SV. He also got a red card and a two-game suspension for stomping on Saudi Arabia's captain Fuad Amin in the 1998 World Cup, allegedly in response to a racial slur. Congratulations and VIVA ITALIA LE CAMPIONI DEL MONDO!
