i would personally sit them down and ask them in the nicest manner what drove them to the conclusion that my mother could be a terrorist and exactly what cause is she fighting for ?

During the Second World War my mother was sent ( by submarine ) to Norway and by all accounts she did have to sleep with the enemy. From a German (or that matter Italian) perspective she would have been a 'terrorist whore', although why it would take 60 years for that fact to catch up with her is beyond me!

The use of that statement was to get an anger reaction and it worked. By replying with anger, it makes you look like a stupid twit that is not civilized.

Personally, I would look at them, smile and say in a gentle (but loud) voice, "Well now, considering the source, I would believe that you are jealous."

That statement would be a shock to the person who made the insult and would get them very angry. The result would be marvelous and most likely they would be the one to respond with hitting or head butting and be penalized.

You see, words can not harm unless you allow them to. Hitting or beating up someone just reeks of ignorance and proves nothing. To fight words with words can easily bring about the downfall of the person who started the word insult and shows that you are much more intelligent then they are.

Firstly I'd thank them for calling her a whore, it is a wonderful compliment for a woman. Secondly I'd laugh at them for the 'dirty terrorist' part and correct them, she is actually a crazy cat lady.

There are different answers , depends on the situation you are in . If you're on the street, then kick his a s s . But if you are the best player of you team , and a great player of your generation with billions fans watching you in the biggest game of the world .... you walk away .

To headbutt in that situation is so stupid , so selfish , so disappointed , and such a disgrace .

To be fair, it was only Marco Marerazzi. He used to play for Everton for Gods sake. What more punishment do you need than spending time at Goodison Park...... in Liverpool...... Well a broken nose wouldn't go a miss!!!

A swift headbut to the chest viewed by, I suppose, 1 billion people would go a long way to easing my anger...

Depends on where you are. If in the World Cup match with millions watching, I would ignore him. If in private, head butt is an option.

i would ask how they know. she is an evil cow. and i hate her. so nothing.

if they called my friend (also the same age as my mum) that i would ignore them, its a sad, small-minded, pitiful person taht has nothing better to do with their time, than to bait someone with an insult as rubbish as that. you are better than that, and dont need to rise to it. tell the person "yeah ok, well...your mum is so fat she's on BOTH sides of your family."

just ignore it mate, this person is not worth your time, effort or anything.

stix and stones eh?

I don't believe he did. It was made up as an excuse(?) for apalling behaviour. Italy won. France didn't. Sick of the media making excuses for Zidane.
