Let them play on until someone finally scores, back up the PK spot so that the PK isn't just a matter of guessing which way to dive? Something needs to be done. That game was unacceptable.

yeah they could take the keepers off (unless there is a penalty) and then play extra time then. If they want to fill up their goal line with defenders, then they won't be able to score, so it's a risk for both teams.

Of course you can play overtime till there is a goal like in hockey, but even after 120 minutes most of the players are pretty much worn out. As you need more power to play offense than defense it makes goals even less likely the longer the game goes. And who wants to see hours and hours of struggle of completely exhausted teams. So you've got to find a solution to find an end to the game. And a penalty shootout maybe not a very elegant way but's it's better than drawing a lot, which was done in early days.

They can't play for ever. Can you imagine a 4 hours game? And penalty stopping isn't guessing to which side to dive. I can tell the keeper where I am going to kick it, and, if I do it right, he can't do nothing about it. The only chance a keeper has is when the kicker is a choker, and make a mistake. The ball goes exactly to the spot you kick it.

Well, they can just cancel penalty kicks and go straight into sudden death because thats what comes after that. I guess that could be a possible solution. Personally, I dislike penalty kicks too because its an unfair way to decide the winning team. And, they are boring and predictable to watch.

Which game was unacceptable?

If you are referring to the final, Italy lost to Brazil in penalty shootouts in the 1994 World Cup final, in Pasadena, USA. And to France, always in shootouts, in the quarterfinals in the 1998 World Cup in France.

Now, it just was France's turn, I guess.

Take it easy, mon ami. C'est la vie!!! On ne peut pas gagner tout le temps!!! ;-)

extension in the overtime. Let's say, maybe 20 minutes instead of 15 min. PKing to determine World champion is wrong... Italy's not worthy of winning the cup anyway. They cheated their way through...those bastards.

Yes, they could have gone with the Golden Goal which is basically just what you described - play till someone scores but FIFA took it out this year.

BECAUSE THE PLAYERS ARE GAY, AND CAN ONLY LAST 90 MINUTES, THATS THE REASON FOR THE PK.
