I understand America didnt ACTUALLY win the World Cup, but Stephen had some sort of explination as to why he thought they did. I watched it last night, and I'm trying to show it to a few friends of mine. I cant find it anywhere.

Colbert said that the US were the only team not to loose against Italy, so the US are Co-Champions however there is a little problem with his theory. On the statistics the game finishes after the 120'. the penalty kicks are just a way to select a winner... like a coin toss.
Under that rationale, France didn't loose to Italy either and should be Co-Champions as well.
For non-US TV watchers, Steven Colbert is a comedian.

He said the U.S. and Italy were "co-champions" since the U.S. was the only team to not lose to Italy (they tied due to an error from what I heard). Funny way to look at it and just the style you'd expect from his TV persona.
