I liked both QB's coming out of college, but schaub hasn't had the crap beat out of him yet like Carr did for 5 years. Hopefuly carr goes to a team that has a better offensive line. And maybe houston should try to bolster it's O-line through the draft. considering how many good OT's are in this draft. And houston needs another playmaker at WR. what do you think of all this, and who should houston draft in all 7 rounds of the draft?

Saints fans, who do you think we should take in the first round? A lot have people have been talking about Greg Olsen, the TE from Miami, but with the signing of Eric Johnson and re-signing of Billy Miller, we have two productive guys at that position. A glaring need in last season's defense was lack of speed and cover skills at cornerback. New Orleans upgraded the saftey spot with the signing of Kaisevarin (think i spelled it wrong) who had 6 INTs last year. They should target CB in the first round, and with a deep pool of CB talent, they should be able to get a quality guy at #27. My hopes that either Pitt's Darrelle Revis or Texas' Aaron Ross is available at this spot. If both are off the board, then they should take the best player available, possibly a WR.

In my opinion this deal made the Falcons a whole lot better I think this was a great deal for the Falcons. If they stay where they are and pick eighth they are guaranteed to get Landry the safety from LSU, whom the Dolphins covet at the ninth pick. Also, they might be able to package picks to move up to the #2 spot and nab Calvin Johnson the hometown boy to become a dynamic weapon for Michael Vick. Great deal for the Falcons in so many ways; in fact, I feel this may go down as one of the all time steals if the Falcons play it right.

Jack Lambert MLB Pittsburgh 6'4", 219

Lawrence Taylor OLB NYG 6'4" 238

Randy White DT Dallas 6'4" 260

All of these guys were considered the best at their respective positions when they played, but today's players are so much bigger. JaMarcus Russel the LSU QB is 6'5" weighs 260, do you think Jack, Randy, and LT could hang or would they have to change positions? Also, looking back at the players from just 15-20 years ago offensive and defensive linemen, linebackers, and tight ends the size differences are so pronounced. DB's, WR's, and RB's are just slightly bigger. All players are heavier that is I guess from more weightlifting and such. Honestly, I think Randy White could play at 30-40 pounds heavier and be dominant, but LT who was one of the biggest LB's when he started his career would be just average to undersized and Lambert more than likely would be tried at safety at his playing weight.

Now that the Texans have Matt Schaub, where will David Carr go? Will he be traded? Given his outright release? What teams are interested in him?

2007-03-22 01:22:44 · 18 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have been a Falcon fan for 35 years and was a season ticket holder from 1986-2006. The Falcons just showed their fans they are dedicated to having a mediocre team for years to come by trading the best quarterback on the team, Matt Schaub to the Texans so they can pick 8th instead of 10th in the draft. They gave him away! I watched the Falcons lose their last 4 home games in 2006. I was paying $65 a seat to watch Michael Vick drop the ball on the ground, make obscene gestures to the fans, and generally self destruct. No more. I saw enough and with the trading of Schaub, I know that the Falcons are not dedicated to winning. Michael Vick is a poor QB who can't read defenses and thus has to run the football whenever his primary receiver is covered so for those who think he's a great runner; it is because he is a poor passer who can't read defenses. I hope other fans will boycott this sad excuse for a team that Arthur Blank has destroyed by keeping Michael Vick, a sad excuse for a QB.

Since Bear Bryant retired, Alabama has gone through seven coaches in 24 years. One never coached a game. Bill Curry was chased out of town after his third season, in which he went 10-2 and led the Tide to an SEC title. Only Gene Stallings lasted more than four years (7). However, this is better than Nick Saban, who has yet to remain anywhere beyond five years. The guy has Mayflower on his speed-dial and there are probably more Century 21 agents following him around town than Britney Spears has paparazzi. Yet Alabama, in its infinite wisdom, signed Saban to a 10-year contract.
