It has to be the Washington D.C./Landover area. The Redskins, Capitals, Nationals, and Wizards combine to make it a losing city. Dubya is still in office, and it's the murder capital of the U.S. Nuff said.

The Detroit economy has been in the crapper, but Detroit is an excellent sports town.
Redwings have done very well over the last two decades.
Lions, despite their woes, have had very good attendance and always have.
Tigers do need a winning team to draw attendance numbers. The weather plays a factor in early season games.
Pistons have had some really good seasons and including championships since the early '80s.

The Tigers have Leyland as the Skipper. They should be better as long as he is there, not saying look for them to go back the World Series this year just saying they should be good. Anyway I don't blame the city for having poor ownership when it comes to the teams. That is the problem with the Lions, speaking of Auto Industry. You forgot though that Detroit does have the Red Wings, even if Hockey isn't popular they are still one of the big name NHL teams. Oh and the Pistons aren't bad either. Batting .633 in sports, 2 good 1 bad and 1 that I think will be fine if you wonder about my numbers.

Technically, it's about 15 years of losing.

And you forgot to mention the smell. How come when everyone pisses on Detroit they always forget the smell? AND THAT FREAKIN' BRIDGE OVER TELEGRAPH ON I-94!! What the **** was with that thing?!

Anyways, there has been a lot of shitty mayors that just push aside all financial problems. It just so happened that it all came to a head right now (not trying to defend Mayor Kilpatrick). And the auto industry here is all unionized, which means that people are getting paid $100,000 including benefits for a $14.00/hour job. That hurts a lot since GM and Ford's chief competator, which I will not say the name of because they were created in hell, don't have workers who are unionized (actually, don't have a lot of workers unionized).

Well for sports no...it's hockey town. Kiss wrote a song about the city, and it was a destination of the underground railroad, which freed many slaves from the south years ago. It has crime, but all major cities do. It is not some place i'd like to be though. It's not the worst city in America, not even close. My pick for worst city: East St. Louis, IL, it has the highest poverty rate and crime level and nothing is being done about it. I feel sorry for those living there.

The Tigers? Lost in World Series in 5 games. Red Wings and Pistons rule. Dteroit has turned a corner it is on the upswing now, so all you people world wide can remove that STEREO TYPE about the D, Last year we had the SUPERBOWL and Base All Star game. And this year more national writers said they had a better time at Superbowl 40 than they did in Florida this year
