I would be scared to be a Texan QB knowing that every play im going to get hit by a denfesive member. Id probably be playing a little game like ''whos gonna hit me on this play'' or '' man im dumb'' or even '' will i be able to even drop back''. The texans need a OT. you're 100% right

For the amount of players Houston gave up to get Schaub, you think they would have gotten Vick in return. But leave it to Bob McNair - football expertise has never been his strong suit.
First, we can debate taking what's-his-name over Reggie Bush or Vince Young in last year's draft. What's great about this, is that the Texans opted for a mediocre defensive rookie last year, obviously planning to keep building behind Dominick Davis (Williams, now) and David Carr. Not even a year later, Davis and Carr are out, while Bush and Young have gotten off to brilliant career starts.
So, after 5 awful years with Carr, instead of getting a proven NFL quarterback, Houston opts to move down in the draft and give up two second-round picks for a back-up QB from one of the worst teams in the league. Jake Plummer would have been a better option, and that's just plain sad.
Who knows what draft blunder awaits the Texans this year. Carr was a bust. What's-his-name was a bust last year. Maybe they will focus on the O-line, and find the next Tony Mandarich.
In summary, the Houston Texas have given up their starting running back and starting quarterback for nothing in return, while other teams have prospered and excelled via the draft and free agency. As long as Bob McNair is running the show in Houston, the Texans will be perennial losers in the NFL. For 2007, I'm predicting a 4-12 season.

What good will a new QB do them? If he keeps getting knocked over like Carr he will be as down and out in 5 years as Carr is now. I like the move, espically with how cheap they got him, but as far as him doing better then Carr he can't do anything with no protection. They got a decent RB and now a QB. Even the best RB can't do crap without the running lanes being opened. Even the best QB can't do crap when he has a 2 step drop, doesn't have time for 3 steps. In other words without a line they will make Schaub into a failure. I really hope they get one.

Schaub won't get hit as many cases as Carr did. Carr got here into the league with a porous O-line. each announcer interior the league observed how undesirable his risk-free practices replaced into. This gave him a waiting made excuse every time the Texans lost. instead of getting to understand the fast launch and short drops or analyzing a protection and calling audibles or warm routes, he might march as much as the line, see the protection and shop the comparable play. Then he might take the drop, carry directly to the ball, and get hit. i'm not asserting that Houston does not have a secure practices concern, I purely think of that Carr found out to apply it as an excuse for dropping instead of getting to understand to conform and advance recommendations that could help him. i think of Schaub will use all that he has found out and stay away from the hit. undergo in recommendations, in his final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days at Virginia, he suffered a knee injury from taking useful in the back of the line. He is conscious the value of rapid drops and throwing the ball away while he has to.

No, he wont. David Carr in my eyes still has the potention to be a great QB. To be a great QB, you have to have atleast some time in the pocket to scan for receivers. He also needs 2 more decent WRs.
Texans need to beef up their line before they can even think about the QB situation, which they don't have.
People blame Carr for everything just because he is the QB, well if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have won any of their games that they have. He won those himself, STILL without a line just because of the "every squirrel finds a nut every now and then" rule.

I think that Schaub will do better than Carr, the Texans are gunning for someone else to help Andre Johnson on the offensive line. Carr is the on;y quarterback who has had his face in the dirt or grass. he only missed a couple of games despite the years that hes been a Texan, I think that the Texans will go farther with out Carr.

Well let's see, Carr, who has more talent than Schaub, tried for 5 years and couldnt get it done. Schaub, who has backed up Vick for years and won 0 games, won't do any better. Good luck to Carr, and I hope he goes to a team who has all the right pieces, other than a QB, so that Carr can blossom in to stardom. Schaub, good luck....you're gonna need it.

no but if they draft levi brown that is a start then maybe schaub wont get hit as much as carr but schaub is slower and less mobile than carr so what this trade solves is nothing tim couch was a good not great qb but had no line and all the hits hurt his confidence you need a line to win the game

me i dont think anyone can do good behind the oline. Carr only had one good season, but thats one in a lifetime thing. if they somehow fix the oline or the oline somehow play like a great oline, and also add more target at WR other than andre johnson, david carr would definitely had back to back good seasons but the possiblities of my scenerio is low. i think shaub will struggle but his first season he would do better than david carr the last 2 season together.

I hope he will for the sake of the team and the sanity of the fans, but unless some major changes are made to the offensive line, I'm afraid the answer is no.
