I'm looking for a deal on a Bianchi Brava, Eros or Strada, new or used or new older model years. I'm already aware of BikesareCool.com and Ebay.
Are there other places I should be looking?

Some Bikes, like the Raleigh Cadents, for example, come with extra brake levers on the top or flat portion of the handle bars, so that the brakes can be actuated from the more upright body position. Other bikes, such as the Bianchi Brava, do not come with those extra break levers.

Can the extra levers be added to any bike, or are there compatability issues with the main brake/shifter levers?

Are these extra levers available as extra lever kits? Are special tools required, to install special cable end thingies for example?

Can you provide a link to pages with extra lever kits?

Thanks

I currently have a Gt mountain bike but i hate the way the handle bar is too low because it makes my back arch like a hunchback. I prefer the cruiser style handle bar because it is raised higher which makes my back in a upright possition. I was wondering if it was possible to put a cruiser style handle bar on a mountain bike. Can any style handle bar fit on a mountain bike, or are specific measurements required. Also is it easy to replace a new handle bar, what is required. Thanks

Before I was training for the century, I sustained a stress fracture via marathon training and had been cycling as method of cross training. I currently, cycle 5-6 days per week, with my long rides up to 50 miles, i typically add 5 miles each week to this ride. I usually spend 2-3 days on stationary bike doing intervals and/or taking spin classes.

I'm looking to buy a bicycle for a 300-pound man who is going to use it to ride back and forth to work in an effort to lose weight. It will only be ridden on paved roads and sidewalks. He prefers a bike with more than one speed, so cruisers are of no use. He will probably customize it as he has the money, but at first it will need to be a stock bike. What brand or style of bicycle will hold a person that heavy and will serve them well?

How high should the seat on my mountain bike be. My boyfriend rides his all the time and says that the seat should be high enough that my leg can stretch out all the way on the bottom pedal (hope that makes sense). But when the seat is that high I don't feel comfortable or in control of the bike. I don't like not being able to put my feet on the ground. I have to stretch to my tiptoes before I can even put them on the floor.

What is the right height to put the seat. I am about 5'10 or 5'9

I havn't really began riding a bike, but I havn't ridden one all winter. I just started again about a week ago. I ride about 20km each day (broken down into 4 drips) on an old mountain bike. Aside from my legs being sore, I've noticed my groin area aching and my but also... it doesnt feel like muscles, it feels like the bone..

Could the groin pain be caused by something else? or is it definetly the bike?

I'm looking to spend no more than £300 on a man's mountain bike and I'm totally confused by the many brands on offer, I know he wants disc brakes but other than that I'm at a loss of what 'name' to go for. Who makes the best mountain bikes please?

i have several samples from Hammer Nutrition and im not sure when to use them. i need something effective to use for XC racing, about a 45min-1hr race for me. i did some research and found that i get cramps while racing due to a lack of electrolytes. should i have a water bottle filled with Gatorade or use the Hammer Endurolyte capsules? heres the other stuff i have:

-dozen Enurolyte capsules
-i pack Pertetuem
-1 pack Recoverite
-2packs of Heed
-1 pack gel

do i fill up on Heed before a race? keep a bottle full of it during a race? drink gatorade suring a race? take the endurolytes before or during a race?

i just need to keep the cramps away, other than that, i have a lot of energy.

i only have a few samples, so i need to find out what works so i know if i need to order more.

I just saw the most beautiful Indian Bike the other day. It was brand new, but looked like the old 1950's style bike. Someone tell me about this work of art.

how does byke riding compare to running or or other cardio exercises when my goal is to lose the fat around my stomach and sides?

I am 37 y.o. woman in great shape. I exercise about 8-10 hours a week--4-5 hours cardio and 4-5 hours strength training. I have always included exercise in my life to some degree but this is really the most I have dedicated myself to it and this is only in the past few months. I am considering my first triathlon but I'm conserned about any unforeseen challenges either in preparation (or lack of) and event day problems. Does anyone with experience have some pointers? Event day is about 2.5 months away and involves a 5+ mile run, 12.5 mile bike and 6+ mile kayaking. Also, I still need to fine tune my eating habits, get good running shoes, take kayaking lessons........

I was riding in the woods on my "GIANT Boulder SE" cross over mountianbike and the rear gearshift snaped completly off and bent the rear rim. The back tire wont turn beacuse it is bent so much. Can Someone give me a ballpark price that the repair will cost me? I am trying to decide on weather or not to get a new bike or just get my old one fixed. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a Giant mountain bike that has a stem that is low. I feel like a stem that is higher would be better when riding downhill. My question is, what is the usual stem degree for mountain biking? I live by the desert and some trails are very steep.

Thanks in advance.

My last bike was a Huffy when I was pre-teen so you can understand how new I am to riding. There isn't a bike rack on my car, so I'll need to find a place close enough to have it professionally fit and then I can ride it home. Supposedly there are some great bike shops in the area, but I haven't been able to locate one that deals Specialized and close enough for a beginner rider. Any suggestions?

I have been doing my research. I have also had some good advice here about where to shop and what sort of sizing and type of bike to look for. I was surprised to find that you can get a few good brand names much cheaper than the overpriced $400-700 for some dept. store bikes. I was displeased with the snooty sales approach in a local bike store. They sell Trek and Diamondback and have a lot of $400-$1000 bikes. Then, I found a man who runs a small shop out of a double garage. He is said to have a good reputation locally for several years. He does all the assembly and repairs himself. He only sells Giant and a couple of Norco. He has mainly mountain and hybrid and only 26" wheels. He has about 25-30 different bikes. He can order other Giant models in if I want.
