Dempsey never had trouble with the "big" sluggers save Firpo. Dempsey's problem was with the dancers like Tunney. Smokin Joe seemed to prefer the "dancers" like Ali, as if he enjoyed "hunting" them. Frazier did not fare well with the big sluggers, Bonavena/Foreman for example. Dempsey could "bring em down" with either hand. Smokin Joe Frazier is considered to have possessed a murdurous left hook, regarded second only to Charles "Sonny" Liston's hook. Dempsey's two handed assaults mimmicks Tyson's savagery/ferocity. Tho smokin Joe possessed no substantial punch other than his thunderous left hook, he possessed a near perfect defence that frustrated many top heavy weights. In a fifteen round bout who would win, Dempsey or Frazier?

I could not believe this! I have not been on here in a while and i got an Email from Smitty telling me that Santana had died. I'm in total shock! Santana had just Emailed me not to long ago and told me to keep my head up because a lot of guys on here were insulting me because i'm a female who knows boxing. He told me that he was very impressed with my knowledge of the sport and that he was looking forward to my questions. He was such a nice person and i enjoyed chatting with him. Wow, i am so sad! My thoughts and prayers got out to his family and friends. If anyone on here can get some information about sending some flowers or when and where his funeral will be, please post it or Email me. This is some heartbreaking news to me and i'm crying as i'm typing. He will me missed! No doubt about it, he was the best! Santana, we loved ya babe!

Since Miguel Angel Gonzalez just challenged Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, I was thinking back to Gonzalez vs. Chavez Sr. and the rain of debris that the audience threw into the ring. Has it ever been just the opposite?

As i sit down to type this, i'm struggling to hold my tears in. This shows you the effect that this man had on me without even meeting him. I had the pleasure of conversating with him through emails and we talked boxing all the time. I learned so much from this respectful and knowledgeable man, and i am truly honored to say the he touched my life. Santana, this is for you:

You made it easy to get through a hard day,
When i read your Q & A's , they often made me say,

This man is so respectful, so humble, so smart.
This man knows his boxing, he sees that it's an art,

From you my brother, i have learned a great deal,
Upon learning that you're gone, i can't describe how i feel,

Though we never met in person, i'm still very sad,
But i had the privlige to know you, and for that i'm glad,

Yahoo boxing has lost a brother, that we all know and love,
Have a peaceful journey, up to Heaven above.

God Bless you Santana D.
R.I.P my brother.

I had spoken to him via email a few weeks ago and we were talking about the Chicago boxing scene, and now i hear that he's gone. Someone please fill me in on what happened, Thanks. RIP Santana D.

He would get ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED in the UFC. He better quit talking or he may back himself into a hole where he has to fight someone like Sean Sherk
