One of the last personal conversations Santana and the blogbaba had was about Gerald McClellan. I Shared a story of the early days of Gerald, Michael Moorer and a third former fighter I currently work with who broke in together with Emanual Stewart. Santana and his wife along with a group of others donated money on a yearly basis to support injured fighters, and Gerald was one of the countless beneficiaries of Santana's generous and beautiful nature. Santana was a man who lived his beliefs and we could all learn from him by the example he provided. His actions and the way Santana lived stood for what honor and decency means in life. He lived his life in a manner that provided others with the best of role models, and it was a privilege to know the man. He was taken from us too soon, and most of us understand only a small portion of how truly wonderful a person he was.

I will always honor his memory, he was one of the few who could change the blogbaba for the better and I will forever be indebted to him for the example he provided me. Truly a blessing to those who knew him.

Just how knowledgeable he was about the fight game and how respectful he was to everyone, and how he always said "thanks" after every response. That showed that he was a classy person. Thanks is a word that you don't hear to often these days, so it made you feel good when he addressed you in such a respectful manner. And he and i discussing the Chicago boxing scene not to long ago, and talking about the old school fighters and comparing them to today's fighters. I had hoped to one day get to meet him, but i'm glad that i at least got to know him in some capacity because he forever has touched my life. I learned so much from the man and i will always be greatful to him for helping me take my boxing knowledge to a new level. With the world being as crazy as it is today, it seems like decent human beings are few and far between, well my sisters and brothers, we just lost one of the most decent human beings in the world. R.I.P Santana my brother, we love you.

The Emails that i got from him telling me to stay strong and keep my head up from some of the male haters on here. He was protecting me like a big brother would his little sister, and that really touched my heart. He was a genuinely sweet person and we were all very lucky to have him on this site. God, i don't think i'll even feel right posting a question and not getting a great answer from him. My heart really aches right now. I can't really say anymore.

I agree with Jane, He always addressed the person by their name before answering the question. It put more of a human touch to his answers. I hadn't the opportunity to message him apart from the question and answers but he was passionate about boxing and willing to educate on subjects people knew nothing about as well as discuss things that sometimes have been beat to death. It was never old for him he addressed each question with the same enthusiasm.

My favorite memory of him is how he'd say "Thanks for the question, Jane" after answering a question. Yeah, I know it's a bit selfish on my part, and he said it a lot. But it always felt good to get a bit of respect back from someone who I respected so much myself. And he never gave me a bad answer. I'll really miss him.
