since Sky took all the rights to boxing a few years ago the popularity of boxing has dived, I asked a friend to name me any world champions,he named one british and a couple of heavy weights and he's an ex boxer,where are all the Ali's Frazier's,Leonard's,Durans,Hearns,Haglers,Eubanks,Benns,Tyson,de la hoye etc.

He didn't. He had a weak will.

I remember Tyson's first fight back after Douglas - against Razor Ruddock. Ruddock could bang, and Tyson mixed it with him for 7 rounds. Tyson took some shots in that fight.

And that was right off the 10 rounds of hell that he went through with Douglas - who could punch - using his head as a speedbag.

And let's not forget the punishment Tyson took against a monster hitter like Lennox Lewis for 8 rounds. Lot of other guys would've been out of there a lot sooner.

And of course, Holyfield - not the most awesome puncher that walked the Earth, but a legitimate threat in the power department.
11rounds Tyson took. To avoid the same in the rematch, he resorted to cannabilism.

When I think of a weak chin, I think of a bust like Michael Grant, that blesses Lennox Lewis before he gets KOd and gets dropped with the very first shot Jameel McCline throws.

Hi,

Just beginning to box, using a heavy bag, more for fitness than fighting. Wanted to buy a good pair of heavy bag gloves but wasn't sure what to look for. I know they are different than speed bag gloves. Are they the same type of gloves used during fights?

Mainly the smallest finger on my left hand but my right hurts a bit. Also when I make a fist it hurts even more. I wrap my hands very well and definatly use plenty on the sore area. It's an annoying pain more than anything else. Any ideas?

Does anyone know of someone by the name of Lawrence Hemick? I'm sure I'm spelling the name wrong. However, at the time I fought him in 1977 or 1978 in Macomb Il, he was the 2 time national champion in the 110'ish pound weight division. Just wondering whatever happened to him.

I've been boxing for about two months now and I really want to be able to breathe properly. In the begining I was totally holding my breath (not purposely it just happened) when I was sparring and on the bags. Now I try to consciously breath thru my nose when I back away and out my mouth when I punch. I just can't seem to get the rhythm. Any tips?
