Moore would take a lot of punishment from Jones. Jones would flurry throughout the early and middle rounds. Building an early lead over Moore through use of hand and foot speed. Although Moore would be catching punches he be would giving them also. Moore would use his superior boxing knowledge and a consistent body attack to slow down Jones. Moore's attack would be consistent but not flashy enough to win the majority of the rounds. Moore's subtle but effective attack would slow down Jones in the latter rounds. Moore catches a tiring Jones and finally corners him. Result Moore TKO round 15 with1:15 to go. At the time of the knockout Jones is ahead on all 3 judges scorecards by at least four points. Both fighters would look like they've been through the ringer Moore with a swollen and puffy face and Jones with contusions to the body. Great matchup Santana.

Jones - W 50 (KO's 38) TF 54 - W pct 93% - KO pct - 70% - wins over - Hopkins, Toney, McCallum and V. Hill - KO'ed by Tarver and G. Johnson (average fighter) - #89 ranked puncher - #44 ranked fighter
Great defensive skills, unparalleled speed (all hid a weak chin)
Held titles at 160, 168, 175 and Hwy wt

Roy did something (win the Hwy wt title) that Moore couldn't do in 2 tries. Moore had 4 times the amount of fights that Roy had.
Roy had me fooled; I thought that he was the greatest thing since white bread/rice. The Mongoose, Moore the wily veteran turns southpaw and KO's Roy's a** just like Tarver did.

Archie Moore would crush Jones! Archie was the slickest fighter around during his prime. A great puncher with good defense. Jones may be the better athleter, but Moore the better fighter!

Wow what a teriffic fight this would be and what a great question sir. The Ol Mongoose was a very clever fighter with dynamite in his fists. Jone is very fast and elusive. I see this fight as a chess match with Jones landing more jabs because of his speed with Moore landing the harder punches. This would be a very close fight with many rounds being about even. I believe that after round 12 Moore turns it up a notch with his aggressiveness and wins a split decision. Thanks for the good matchup!
