Mainly the smallest finger on my left hand but my right hurts a bit. Also when I make a fist it hurts even more. I wrap my hands very well and definatly use plenty on the sore area. It's an annoying pain more than anything else. Any ideas?

For everyone suggesting I stop, I don't actually fight for real, I'm just doing it for excersise and it's most definatly some of the best exercise you can get. I do spar but not to hurt one another just to get quicker and fitter.

Maybe it's how your hitting, point of impact should be the knuckles of the index and middle fingers. Sounds like you are making glancing blows more so than solid blows.

Imprpoer technique is probably why your fingers/hands hurt - although some soreness in hands is very common for fighters - you want to get in shape try Tae Bo all the exercise without the contact

My personal experience is that if something aches or hurts, it is telling you something is wrong. First you should check to see if you don't have a hairline sprain or fracture. Left unattended unseen fractures can lead to breaks.
Try to reposition the fingers so that you're taking off the pressure . Repostioning the bandage, add more padding to the finger .
You mentioned a "sore" area, could there be swelling? If so, apply ice to it......get that swelling down.
I hope this is helpful to you!:)

you have more than likely broken /fractured a small bone in your hand that connects to the knuckle. most doctors call it a fighters fracture bucause its mostly sustained from fighting or hitting something. i did it when i frist started boxing. its because of incorrect punching. you need to clench your fist as you impact and also turn your hand as your making contact otherwise you can do this damage to your hands.

boxing is way cool... Maybe your hands are just not in a very good position when you punch... That was also my problem at first but now I know how to do it right...(ee,)
