Man I wish I saw your question sooner. I watched it live on ARD. It was a tremendous fight and well deserved win for Arthur Abraham. He showed such incredible hearth and so much courage in this match and just amazed everyone. First four rounds were a real brawl with Arthur powering forward, looking to trade and end the match early. Miranda was also very aggressive but Abraham just seemed unfazed by his shots.

Then midway through the fifth, during one clinch, Miranda executed a deliberate headbutt and broke his jaw. The match was stopped for several minutes for Abraham to be examined. Why Miranda wasn't disqualified here I have no idea and even though Arthur was bleeding from his mouth badly and his injuries were already at this point very severe, he was cleared and decided to continue non the less.

From that point on Miranda was starting to take initiative and attack more and Arthur was covering up not to let his injuries deteriorate even more and he looked for big counters and possible knock out. They were more less about even over the next three rounds with Miranda being more active of the two but everything he had to offer ended up on Abraham's block.

Arthur then had him in big trouble and on the verge of KO in round nine. After one exchange he got him on the ropes and started putting big shots through and at it looked like Miranda was going down but even though he was visibly shaken he managed to get through the onslaught and finish the round none the less. That was the last big effort from Arthur in this match because he was really badly hurt at this point (he couldn't even close his mouth anymore).

I think that the last three rounds went Miranda's way but it was too little, too late. In the end Arthur won a well deserved unanimous decision; it was 114-109, 115-109 and 116-109, and his incredible, unprecedented courage and determination left everyone astounded. To even be in the ring, let alone fight with those kind of injuries and win a match against opponent of Miranda's caliber was just awesome. Arthur is without question pound for pound one of the best boxers today and he could in near future very well be the next undisputed middleweight champion (the match between him and Jermain Taylor would really be the clash of all clashes).

In the end I must say one more thing - I really had no idea that Miranda was such dirty fighter. He could have easily been disqualified on few occasions in this match. Apart from that headbutt, he was hitting after the gong several times, executing low blows (had 3 points deducted for that) and basically being unsportsmanlike throughout the fight. He's a great boxer, no doubt, but someone should really explain the concept of fair play to him, and soon.
