Everyone knows how much I love Brian Mitchell, and what an underrated fighter he is.
What would happen if Mitchell and Barrera went at it?
Brian's the naturally bigger guy, and very few fighters have been able to sustain such offensive pressure, but Barrera is an equally talented fighter that's been in there with better opposition.

Fifteen rounds.

First he goes to jail for rape,

Recently he said he wanted to box a girl.

Now, he says me wants to be a gigalo.

What a joke.

BTW- Boxing chicks and becoming a male gigalo doesn't do much to defend his stance that was innocent of the rape!

How many ounces should my boxing gloves be when I practise punching the hook and jab pads with a trainer? I'm searching online for a good pair for this purpose, but I'm not sure which size gloves to choose.

I enjoyed watching his last fight against Brewster, but I've heard none of his fights before that were very impressive. Do you know of any others?

I think Joe Mesi is good for Boxing. A little disappointing that he didn't start his professional career until his 20s, and that he has undergone the medical problems which have prohibited from fighting for a little while and made his opponent picks more a cautious and challenging decision for his handlers. I think technically he is a sound fighter and his style and ring generalship remind me of boxers of old (Marciano etc...) He handles himself well with all of his post fight interviews; his mannerisms and verbal skills intact. He is always self critical even through some of his most one sided victories. I like the fact that he is involved with organ donation charitites and stroke charities etc. Plus he is unorthodox in that he makes no attempt to talk smack to or about his opponents before or after a fight, but just gives them their proper graces. I've definately seen better and more gifted fighters, but as said, I think Baby Joe is good for boxing. Brent?, Brad? Santana?

Been reading all this bickering between fight fans here and across the pond, so here's a match for the ages; South Africa's finest fighter, the great Brian Mitchell (yes, great - no champion in history was forced to make every one of his defenses (12) on the road) vs. one of the hardest hitting featherweights in history, the would-be-great Naz, who was badly exposed by Marco Antonio Barrera.

Give Hamed a break here and have this over 12 rounds.
Fighting at 130.

Just watched the Holyfield/Foreman fight again. Evander can thank the God he believes in that it was a 41 year old, and slower Foreman that he fought.

The courage that Foreman showed in that fight, standing toe-to-toe with a 29 year old, still unbeaten Holyfield, was superhuman. I remember watching it at the time and thinking that he had redeemed himself for the loss to Ali with his courageous performance.

I also remember having a conversation with Buddy McGirt one day (he's a real student of the game), discussing Holyfield. He told me that it was Evander's performance against a still very dangerous Michael Dokes, that convinced him that Holyfield would win the heavyweight title. I agreed with him. I always knew Holyfield would be one of the greats.

Forget the Moorer fight, the fact that grandfather George could go 12 highly competitive rounds with a young Holyfield completely redeemed him for the loss in Africa, in my opinion.

to hear your answer. Dream match Ricky Hatton vs. Aaron Pryor who wins? Hatton has won as many fights as Pryor had in his career. Hatton is undefeated. He is a legend in England and in Europe. His workout regimen is torturous (Try doing the bag bar and body belt it's strenuous). On paper this match up is one for the ages! Hatton is a relentless pressure fighter with a lion's heart. We'll cut Hatton some slack and make it a 12 round fight. Not the true championship distance of 15 which Pryor fought. In their prime.

Urango is the IBF Jr. Welterweight champ of the world. Hatton is fighting him to get his title back. Does Urango have a shot in this fight? Will it be competitive? Will Hatton "choke" again like he did against Collazo? I ask that last question knowing that he's not fighting in the comfy cozy surroundings of Manchester, and London. Does Ricky have to win this fight impressively and in spectacular fashion to gain recognition and respect in the States?
Or can he get away with another flat unimpressive performance like he did against Collazo?

I am one of the biggest fans of Joe Calzaghe out there, but it seems that Kessler could probably take care of him. I mean, after his last fight he took some punishment and didn't look like good old Joe. But who knows, maybe Mikkel isn't such a tough opponent after all, any thoughts?
