I remember vividly how great Moorer was in his days at 175lbs. He often fought on ESPN or on USA Network's Tuesday Night Fights. He won the WBO Title in only his 12th pro fight (12W-0L 12KOS). He defended it for almost 3 yrs and in 1989 defended it 6 times, unheard of today.

He was a text book definition of a "KronK" fighter. Devastating KO power at 175lbs. In 1991, he decided to go for the more lucrative money fights in the Heavyweight division. He vacated the title after 10 defenses and with a remarkable record of (22W-0L 22KOS).

When i say best champions i don't mean the so called pound for pound best, i mean the guys who regularly defend there title and will fight anywhere not just in there backyards, and don't pick and choose there opponents.

My brother is a major fan of the Rocky movies and I have just heard there is another one coming out soon - Rocky 6. He would absolutely die if I could give him a Rocky boxing gown for Christmas. I have seen them before but have no idea where to buy one. Has anyone seen them for sale or does anyone know how I can get hold of one??

Do you have a good resource for information on boxing? I want to become a professional boxer and I'm wondering what you get paid in the beginning. My friend said he was going to get $500 for his first pro fight. Do you know how much that ammount goes up if your say 5 and 0?

Read this article on Yahoo sports. Khan visited stateside and spoke to Ray Leonard. Leonard said "you've got to come over here and crack America." Khan was quoted as saying " I want to build my name up in the States as well as here. I want people to know who I am, that I'm a good boxer and that I'm going to be a great champion." HBO is interested in giving him more exposure if he fights in the States.
Sounds like the kid's a hell of a lot smarter than I gave him credit for. Seems like he's got it figured out. Too bad Calzaghe hasn't seemed to figure that out, and that Hatton's just now figuring it out.
My question: How important is it for a fighter to come to the States and conquer the opposition to achieve greatness?
Seems like Khan knows how important it is and I give him props.
a_p_ ribafish: I definitely want to hear your answer to this one.

The article is still in Yahoo Sports under Boxing
