Joe bugner a hopeless boxer turned out to be an even worse actor

A few british fighters have had small parts in films. As was mentioned earlier Steve Collins was in lock stock and two smoking barrels and Mickey Cantwell was in Snatch as was Andy Till the former british light middleweight champion and Scott Welch the former british heavyweight champion who fought for the WBO title against Henry Akinwande in 1997.
Im pretty sure none of these guys were models though. I know Gary Stretch did modeling as i remember him talking about it pryor to his fight with Chris Eubank in a tv interview back in the day, and i think Robin Reid dabbled a bit in it also. The one noones mentioned yet is Kevin the look Lushing who worked as a model while fighting but im not sure if he did any acting or not.
He was a pretty good fighter though an ex british welterweight champion and fought Felix Trinidad for the IBF welterweight title, actually knocking him down before being knocked out himself in three rouneds.

Gary Stretch

Gary Stretch is the most obvious example, the pinnacle of his career being an ill-advised though gallant challenge to Chris Eubank in 1991. A poster boy of British boxing it would be harsh to completely disregard his fighting ability, given his domestic success at 154lbs, securing the British Light-Middleweight title and defending it once in emphatic style against a fighter (Derek Wormald KO1) who would later take future world champion Richie Woodhall ten rounds.

His subsequent acting career I understand has included parts alongside Colin Farrell in Alexander and I also have a hazy recollection that he has dated a veteran screen actress, Raquel Welsh or similar.

Alternatively, you could look to Steve Collins - the Irish Super-Middleweight who beat tired versions of Benn and Eubank - before embarking on a cameo performances in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or perhaps Robin Reid, who starred in one or two films of a more adult nature whilst being a professional fighter. Debatable whether the Runcorn man has retired though.

I also recall that Mickey Cantwell, good class Flyweight, also appeared in another British based film - could have been Snatch, but my memory is less clear on that one.

Gary Stretch would be a good start, wikipedia mentions the films but he had a decent boxing career which never reached the top.
