Simple question. I personally think he will. He has never had a major injury, not saying he will in the future tho...
At his current pace, he averages 44 HR a yr. He jacked his 500th dinger today.
So, on current pace, he will break it in 5.8 yrs...So, before he is 40...If he's healthy, and keeps pace, he will murder the record!

I saw an interview with Arod after he hit his 500th home run,He was trying to find the guy that caught the ball, looks like that guy wants to keep it! If any of you fans caught the 500th homerun ball or any (world series winning home run ball) Keep it? Sell it? or give it back to the player?

That's what it seems like. They don't read Muscle & Fitness. Did you know that anyone can get big really fast without using steroids? Yep...Many bodybuilders gain 20 to 30 pounds of muscle in 3 months with proper nutrition, supplementation and strength training, etc. So there you go...It's possible to get huge without steroids...Go Barry you're the greatest..I love Babe because I'm a Yankee fan but Barry Bonds is the best of my generation and possibly the greatest ever!!! 755 home runs (will probably reach 800 and 3000hits if he plays next season) , 2000 rbis and still managed to steal 500+ bases!? Yep...gotta be the greatest ever...you can't beat power and speed!!" :-)

with no offense to hank aaron he is the mlb all time home run leader until bonds ties and breaks his record why is it that everyone talks about it being the all time record when Sadaharu Oh has the ALL-time record of 868 whether its mlb or not that is the all time record why will no one on any us tv sports show or news acknowledge this fact ?

Will you recognize Barry Bonds as the home run king? Or will you still recognize Hank Aaron as the king?

1977 World Series he hit 4 home runs on 4 consecutive swings..last time up in game 5 and in game 6 walked on 4 consecutive pitches first time up and then proceeded to hit 3 on the next 3 consecutive swings...a fact...my question is did he take any pitches or did he swing on the very first pitch during those last 3 truns at bat???

not even a minute after Barry Bonds hit number 755 it said...."As of August 4, 2007, Bonds shares the all-time home run record with Hank Aaron, after hitting his 755th home run against the San Diego Padres."

Every team I play on does it a different way, on my American Legion Team, First baseman takes it. On my AAU team, short takes it on the left field side and second takes it on the right field side. Who do you think should take it?

Just wondering, not trying to start a fight.

Would you rather have Jete and A-Rod and no more rings, or a 27th without Jeter and A-Rod (In this era, so besically Jeter and A-Rod would practically be traded or someting)

Many MLB players did not practice in the off season and had to get jobs. Most did not even come close to the amount of training high schoolers spend tuning their bodies all year round. The equipment and training used today was not even invented. A player today can spend hours watching videos of pitchers they are going to face and same goes for pitchers watching batting videos. Would babe Ruth make it in the minor leagues today without the training and technology of our times?

He's hitting an abysmal .239, but he's hit 16 homeruns and driven in 70 RBI. So while his batspeed has decreased, the production is still there.

I know that the number of games has changed and that Ted Williams and others could have gotten that record with this type of season. Who has hit more than 200 in 6 consecutive seasons. This year Ichiro will go for 7 if he doesn't get hurt. Please name all the names that have hit for 6 and 7 consecutive 200 hit seasons. Please do not average, that doesn't count.

Will he go play for an American League team as a DH and pad his numbers? He strikes me as an egomaniac and I personally think he could play on at least a couple more years to increase his homerun total above 800 to prolong his record as long as possible.
