Every team I play on does it a different way, on my American Legion Team, First baseman takes it. On my AAU team, short takes it on the left field side and second takes it on the right field side. Who do you think should take it?

All of my son's teams cut off to the first baseman if the play was at home. His high school coach was a former mlb player so I assumed he knew what he was doing.

It has to be short in left and second in center because you can't have the first base take it to home because of runners on base. Plus, short and second should have pretty legit arms. So to cover all your bases and have a throw home, you have to have a fundamental set-up.

Preferably whoever is closest to the fielder making the throw.
