Is there really any point in asking these questions?

Some people think he took steroids, some people thinks he did. Asking questions and giving facts isn't going to change people minds on answers>yahoo.

I really think that people are wasting their time talking about this guy.

Those who hate him will say he's a shame to the baseball nation, and those who love im will say he's best all time.

I am as big a Bonds supporter as there is, and I'd have to correct your question. MLB has only been testing for steroids officially since the onset of the 2005 season, which Bonds sat out most of. Barry has admitted to taking a rub-on salve for "arthritis," sent over by BALCO, which has made public statements declaring that they knowingly supplied MLB players with "the clear," a topical steroid untraceable by previous testing methods (hence the name "the clear."). Whether Barry knowingly used this steroid or not is debatable, although I think he did know. Chances are his surgery was not as bad as he had claimed - he was waiting out the season to get clean. Steroids might make you stronger, but they won't make your brain tell you what pitch is coming or what to swing at and when. Age might and very well could be a factor, but a player who hit 73, 45 and 45 home runs in consecutive seasons, and in seemingly as great condition as Bonds, dropping off to 26 seems suspect. Still, technically, he wasn't breaking any "on the book" rules, so I say the record is valid. After all, we all know Ruth, Mantle, Schmidt, and others took "greenies," or amphetimines/speed derivatives to wake themselves up and be alert for day games after being up all night partying. How is that any different?

That is a good point but before you go calling people morons you should look in to roids first. Like any other medication/drug it has a half life in your body which means that it only takes so long for it to get through so say roids have a half life of three hours the drug iis still in your body yes but the shorter the half life the fast after you have done it, it leaves your system. So say Mr. Roid rage that posted this was smoking weed like and tested (-) for it that would only mean that he hadnt done it recently and did somwthing to get it through his system faster. In the case of Barry Bonds I would say hey inocent until proven guilty but if you look at the facts he's got the biggest head in the league and he sounds like a chipmunck on some days, the only thing we havent seen from him is the temper and thoughs are the people who need tested the ones that go in to the dug out through the bats water cooler and Zimmer I mean balls in to the field should be the ones getting tested right off the bat. Also its like being back in school when you cheated in school and didnt get caught it didnt mean you didnt cheat. Thank you have a good night any questios for me I will be here for a while.

You know what? I actually LIKE Barry Bonds but even I have to say you're the moron here. First of all, there was no testing during the period of time Bonds was likely using steroids (and yes, I believe he probably used). Secondly, even today there is no testing for human growth hormone (HGH) which is likely still being used (by whom, I have no idea).

I do believe that he is unfairly being made the scapegoat of the steroids era, because he wasn't the first to use and he won't be the last. But he's the only one with 754 home runs, and that comes mostly from skill and hand-eye coordination.

he did admit to taking a differnt kind of steriods though he wastent convited at the time beacuse the MlB commisner kinda looked the other way at the time but then more and more people starting useing it and when they started doing randome tests i think he stoped frigtend that he would ruin his carear so wen they convicted him he was negitive so he dosent do them now but he has addmited to doing them in the past
