You HATE him? Have you ever met him?

Has he really done anything worthy of HATE? Did he murder anyone? Did he rape anyone? Is he a terrorist?

Sports "hate" is different than the real thing.

Reserve your actual hate for the people that really do deserve it. I hardly think that someone that plays a game for a living that you do not know is really worth your energy.

Hate is a strong word, but I dislike him more than I've ever disliked anyone in my life. I'm live in ATL and we're proud of hank aaron. This doped up freak does not deserve the home run title and he's an embarrassment to the sport. I could careless if he's black, white, brown or purple (I personally think he's yellow because he can't tell the truth)..the man is an insecure coward.

To answer your question, you're somewhere between a realist and a straight-edged baseball fan.

Ebonia...that's about the most absurd thing I've heard in a long time. Have you looked up reverse discrimination lately? My best friend is black and I revel in the success of Hank Aaron. Don't give me that $hit that we just want to put the black man down...it's a crock of $hit and you know it...

Do you equally dislike McGwire or Palmeiro? If so, your question is probably answered.

I think I know the reason for your question, though: Sort of the "O.J. effect" going on here, with many Americans linking it to race immediately. Which is understandable. 350 years of slavery, my friend. As a white man, you don't get a free hall pass after that. So just take it in stride. And don't take it personally. Just understand why it is the way it is, and that there's little you can do about it, except to be kind to all people.

Ebonei's answer on a different subject made me think of Robin Williams' joke concerning Armstrong's victories after cancer (I paraphrase):

"Lance Armstrong is amazing. The French, though, are not very happy. They're now saying ... 'Armstrong won the Tour de France! He just had cancer! He must be on a chemical substance!' ... Yeah, [expletives deleted], it's called [expletive deleted] CHEMOTHERAPHY, [expletive deleted]! ... Actually, he had a testicle removed during the treatment. So then the French said ... 'See? That makes him more aerodynamic!'"

[oh no! now I'll be accused of racism for relaying that joke, even though it's simply confined to the subject of cancer and steroids, and not race. :P]

I don't hate him but he is a Cheat and a Liar and he is obviously so into himself that he can't see that breaking AAron's record is a travesty and should never be allowed to be the official record for home runs.
The only satisfaction I get is knowing that Bonds use of steroids will one day catch up with him health wise.

Yeah, if you hate Bonds because of his ethnicity, then that makes you a racist.

However, if you hate him because of the scandals, then you are completely correct. He does not deserve to play baseball, much less pass Aaron for the Home Run record. If you dislike him because of this, then you have a good moral character.
