With all this talk about the players wearing #42 in honor of Jackie Robinson, I heard that there is one MLB team that doesnt even have an African American player ontheir current roster. I didnt hear the team name. Does anyone know?

NL pitchers involve a greater risk to injure their pitching arms. If you're a manager, would you ask your pitcher NOT to try too hard at bat?

Is it the long ball hitter....the pitching...the team effort...the history and excitement of the pennant chase....etc?

What appeals to you the most about the game of baseball that makes it the great American sport?

Did any caucasian players choose to wear #42 in honor of Jackie Robinson today? I know that some entire teams are wearing #42, but I'm talking about teams where it was the players' decisions.

I am caucasian and if I was a baseball player, I would be wearing #42 today in honor of this great man. Yet it seems to me that only non-whites have been wearing his number.

Who are the caucasian players on teams that did not all wear #42 that chose to wear the number?

Seriously, Yankees have NO pitching whatsoever this year, and not only that. But why do you think they going to win the WS EVERY year???? I don't get that.
Clearly, there's better teams......*TWINS!* I'd like your thoughts Yankee fans...although everyone is welcome.

OK, aside from the obvious that a righty throws with his right hand and a lefty with his left, what is the difference between the pitches? You always hear that the best lineups have at least one good lefty. The ball seems to end up in the same place, the catchers mitt or it is hit. So why is a good lefty always a "must have" on a starting line up? Any information you give me on this will be appreciated.

...not for his "breaking of the race barrier", but his stats arent really those of a superstar...

I mean, LIFETIME:137 HRs, 197 SBs,
only ONE season with over 100 RBI...
sure a .311 Life AVG, but.... What do you think?
