Do people 4get the grandfather rule, and that he is a minority. People 4get that he isn't white. Also, he's one of the more respectful people in the game, and if anyone were going 2 respect Jackie Robinson, it would be him.

That is,taking his stats into consideration, would the yankees be better off, worst off, or indiffirent if we didnt have A-Rod, would someone else "step up" to the bat?

Just wondering, it is a discussion I have with friends. I personally feel he is overpayed and arrogant. i feel the Yanks could pull through without him.

I thought he's one of the best hitters in baseball today. Why can't he hit the ball? Is he overhyped too?

Last year the Royals were the bad team (or so I think).

Who will have the worst record this season? Explain why if answered.

This came up during a game when a catcher dropped a foul ball that hit off his mitt. The batter never reached base, but he still wanted to give the catcher an error.

I do not like how the MLB has no salary cap where other pro sports like the NBA does. This way, teams like the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox can't hog expensive all-stars and leave smaller franchises like Pittsburgh Pirates in the dark. Who agrees with me?!

Should MLB retire Jackie's number?
Robinson is arguably the one of the most significant sports figures of the 20th century. A significant human being, too.

I think retiring his number would serve as a constant reminder, as much as so many of us wish it weren't so, that rascism, sexism, classism, and marginalization still exist in society, and need to be constantly guarded against.

With runners on base, you still would want to avoid wild pitches while attempting to give an intentional walk to a batter. I understand that when a pitcher licks his hand on the mound, he is charged a ball by the umpire. A pitcher COULD lick his hand in place of at least one of those pitches to reduce the risk of the runners advancing. Something tells me, however, that the umpire would catch on and either ignore it or throw the pitcher out of the game. To lick your hands in place of every intentional ball would be absurd. What do you think?

Where's the respect for these guys? They constantly make the playoffs without a huge payroll and rarely make headlines unless they're playing some big team like the Yankee's. They're way better than the Giants too, who seem to be on the news everyday. Imagine if the A's had a bigger payroll. Then they'd be unstoppable
