Babe Ruth 's importance in the 1920's came at a time when baseball was scandalized due to the Black Sox fiasco. Baseball needed a marquee name and Babe Ruth provided it with his open personality and hitting prowess. Babe Ruth was able to fill the ballparks when baseball was at its darkest hour .He also changed the way baseball was going to be played in the future. It became a game of the long ball in contrast to its earlier days when baseball was a singles , doubles , and triples with stolen bases providing the majority of the scoring until Ruth came on the scene.

the 1920's were a time of spending for Americans. It was known as the roaring twenties and people were beginning to spend on luxuries and things for themseleves. They bought radios and automobiles and anything else popular. During this time period boxing and horse racing were the most famous and baseball was just emerging. Since people were not afraid to spend money once the amazing Babe Ruth became popular everyone wanted to attend a game. He is a reason why baseball is what is today because he sparked baseballs popularity.

well he was the first to hit homeruns ona regular basis before him frank homerun baker was the star he never hit more then 14 in a year basbelal nearly went under after the 1919 blacksox scandel only team could draw fans were the game ruth was in befroe him there wer eno foul poles no other players could hit the ball that high he won 94 games as a pitcher before becoming the great homerun hiiter ah when he retired he held over 40 batting records no othe rplaye has held that many at any point in there career need anything else
