I think it'd be a good idea since he won like a gazillion of them.

Barry Bond is a cheater, liar, and let's other people do his jail time for him. He doesn't even belong in baseball much less name an award after him. Get real, Bub!!

I don't hate the man because he's black and successful. I hate his still being in baseball as a major cheater, a man with so little honour that he's still letting his good friend rot in jail instead of admitting the truth about himself.

And I have no idea what you've been imbibing to even ask this question.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

no way in a million years
not only is he a cheater, but he isn't a good all around player.
The best players are the ones that can play all aspects of the game well, not just take steroids and hit a lot of homers. Those players are the ones that should be awarded.

okay, i am one of the people who is going to accept Bonds as home run king, but to name the mvp after him? NO!!! Bonds is the offensive giant of our time, but he can barely play defense. sure, he was better at that when he was younger, but even then he wasn't the best. If the MVP is ever renamed (which i don't think it should be), it should be named after someone who dominated on defense and offense for an entire career. and that is almost impossible to find.

Or we could just make a new award for Most Valueable Player on steroids

You have a point, Barry bonds is very successful, but no award named after him.

I cannot stand how everybody keeps on saying Bonds takes steroids. They just make themselves look like total and complete imbeciles. They did not physically drug test him and prove that he did steroids, there is not proof he ever did steroids. There is only suspicion. Barry Bonds will eventually break Aaron's record, and we will have a new home run king. Whoever keeps on saying "oh, he does steroids, he should have all of his awards stripped, and should be fired, and he is cheating/cheated", is just either jealous because he is successful, or just feels like saying their thoughts and looking like they are smart when they are morons. Same thing with people saying teams suck because they loose a game, get over it, its a GAME! Its COMPETITION! It's BASEBALL!

I don't think they should. MLB is loathe to honor him as it is and this would put him the company of Jackie Robinson and Cy Young which is a joke. He is the greatest hitter of his era, but not the greatest of all time....whether or not you think he took steroids. You can't take away the 7 MVP's he won, but it takes more than that to be honored in this way. He didn't change the game like Jackie and his records will probably be broken which you can't say for most of Cy Young's records.

No because Barry Bonds takes steroids. If anything they should strip Bonds of all those home runs so he doesn't break Hank Aaron's record and everyone else can have their records back. Bonds doesn't deserve to play Major League Baseball let alone have the biggest award given out named after him.

I am a Giants fan but I don't think that is a very good idea because there is so much controversy over weather he used steroids or not.

GO GIANTS

No ! He is not only a disgrace to baseball but to the human race as well. He should not be put up on some pedestal like a role model that kids should follow.
