I like the Adam LaRoche deal. Even if he doesn't hit as advertised, he will provide solid defense at first. In fact, I am cautiously optimistic about the team. They do have a solid infield defense (LaRoche, Castillo, Wilson, and Sanchez), and the outfield is above average (Bay, Duffy, Nady), but my chief concerns are with their bench and pitching. The starting staff really doesn't have a proven veteran leader (Ian Snell and Zach Duke are the best of the lot, but they are still too young to be counted on as leaders), the bullpen doesn't have a closer (Salomon Torres? Matt Capps? Maybe even Bryan Bullington?), and they need speed (Rajah Davis?). Let me know what you in Yahoo think...
