In regards to baseball, what to the terms "ho-hum" and "hum babe" mean?

It's just cheering...it does not have a specific meaning. It's just chatter that comes out when players are cheering.

Hum babe is usually used for pitchers..."Hum it in there", meaning...throw it in there hard.

It can be described as throw a strike or put a little extra something on the pitch to get the batter to swing and miss.

I don't think they are real terms. People just say that when they are talking up there pitcher. Trying to give him confidence. Basically cheer leading.

There not actual words..... they are meant to distract the batter and show the pitcher some support.
