they went 62-100 last year and have lost 100 games 4 of the last 5 years. they did hire Dayton Moore as GM from the Braves last year, though, and are actually spending some money in the offseason. I'm just curious if anybody thinks they can get out og the cellar of the AL Central.

Unfortunately they will improve by only about 5 games. The are still a very weak team in a division that really has no other weak teams. Royals fans need to find something else to do this summer because baseball will be very painful from them to watch.

I think they'll be about 67-95 this year, but they'll still finish in last place. The improved record is a baby step in the right direction, but they have a lot of things to improve on before they become a contender again, especially in the AL Central. The other four teams in that division are all above average or really good...

It is one thing to spend money to upgrade the talent on the field. It is another to spend it foolishly like the Baltimore Orioles. Spending $55 million to get Gil Meche is not what I had in mind in an upgrade in pitching talent.

Until they can learn how to play the small market game like the A's and the Twins, the Royals are going to be a babd, bad team for years to come. Lose 100? It is possible. They are the Royals for crying out loud. I say 65-97.

Does anyone remember when the Royals were a class organization in the 70's and 80's?

If Alex Gordon gets 400+ at bats in 2007? They could reach .500

If Angel Berroa gets 450+ at bats? They don't lose 100 again, but they don't get more than 65 wins.

They won't lose a 100 this year. Probably mid to high 80's but not a 100.

No, they are going to win a lot extra video games, and they received't lose one hundred. they are going to move slowly out of the cellar, no longer into 1st, yet merely out of the cellar. they are going to wish some extra years to mature and get extra elite gamers earlier even wondering about the playoffs.

They won't be good, but they'll surprise. They won't compete to win the AL Central (the deepest division in baseball), but they'll do better than the Orioles, Mariners, and Devil Rays.
