I think they just had a rainout or something. If I remember right, the rule is that they only play the makeup game if they have to to decide a playoff spot. With the Reds and Astros breathing down their necks, it looks likely that the Cards will be up or down by 1/2 game after Sunday. When and against whom will they play the makeup?

Dumb questions like, who would the A's rather play, Detroit or Minnesota? Why do fans think the Twins have a chance to beat Oakland?

Since April, Zito, Haren and Harden have given a total of 2 (TWO!!!!) earned runs to the Twins, combined. The real question should be, with Harden back, do the A's have a chance at FINALLY winning the World Series, or at least getting out of the first round? If they play the Twins, I think they do because they've owned the Yanks this season, who will beat Detroit.

St. Louis over Oakland in 6.

Remember, the strongest baseball fanbase is in colder climate areas. i think Louisville, their minor league teams draws more people per game than several major league teams & the Louisville Slugger is made there. Louisville's market area is also 31st, which is one of the largest w/o a pro team.

I would also say Birmingham, great sports town & baseball is very big in the South

A "cano hitter" is when you allow only one hit in a game, and its to a man named Cano. hahah...all that matters is that NY gets homefield anyways.

To paraphrase "A Pirate Looks at Forty," I dedicate this one to the St. Louis Cardinals:
Mother, Mother Baseball, we have let you down,
Led the division by a dozen or more, now
We've let Cardinal Nation down, we've let them down.

Watched as our rotation
Slipped from Cy to suck
No idea just how we did it -
All we can say? "What the f---?!" ... say "What the f---?!"

We've had our share of winning,
We used to have "the gas,"
We had enough winners to take the pennant
But we've pissed it away so fast ... never meant to last ... never meant to last.
