the cubs games are fixed.. they're told to spoil the game so they get the big bucks or else.

i think the mafia is involved... old legend has it years ago... the prior owners (going back a ways) did something and lost a bet or 'insulted' a don or one of his family... so until there's an official opology? something is to happen? the team is to lose and lose and lose until either someone gets over it, apologizes or something..

the story slights itself over the years but in short someone pis.se.d a important person off who owned the cubs at the time and maybe someone else affiliated with the team and it's been hardship since...

or there'll be some head banging a going on.

?

urban legend i'm sure.

The CHubbies need to make a lot of changes to their organization. Get a good manager, then flat out drop Prior and Wood. Get what you can for them, save some money and rebuild for a couple of years. Develop your farm system and bring guys up when they are ready. Don't rely on a couple of big names. You need players who play and work as a team. I think they could get there, but there is a lot of work to be done before that happens.

Also I don't want to hear any damn thing about a goat, what a lame excuse for a curse.

I believe The Cubs will win a world series before your southside crybaby neighbors win again.

You know, there's just something very wrong with the idea of a World Series banner flying over Wrigley Field. Let's face it, the Cubbies are just too lovable as the perpetual losers. If they win, they will lose their aura and mystique and be just another baseball team.
