The Ferrari Formula 1 Team sacked its entire pit crew yesterday. The
announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the UK
Government's Youth Opportunity Scheme and employ people from Liverpool .

The decision to hire them was brought on by a recent documentary on how
unemployed youths from Liverpool area were able to remove a set of wheels
in less than six seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's
existing crew can only do it in eight seconds with millions of euros worth
of high tech equipment. . As most races are
won and lost in the pits, Ferrari now have the advantage over every team.
However, Ferrari may have got more than they bargained for. At the crew's
first practice session the Liverpool pit crew successfully changed the
tyres in under six seconds, but within 12 seconds they had re-sprayed,
re-badged, and sold the vehicle to the McLaren Team for eight bottles of
Stella, a kilo of speed and some photos of Coulthard's bird i

Last I checked....Italy is in Europe, so how come teams like Renault and McLaren have to do ditch thier tobacco sponsors but Ferrari can keep Marlboro as theirs? I know that the Marlboro sponsorship will be mostly subliminal, but it still going to be there, how come other teams can't do that?

Anyone out there been to the Montreal F1 race and sat in grandstand 12? I just bought my ticket in that grandstand and I'm wondering if I would be able to see the starting grid from there, or whether my view would be obstructed and I'd have to wait until the cars enter that first complex of corners before they come into view.

I for one have been amazed by Narain Karthikeyan's Car Control in his rookie season where he outdrove Tiego Monteiro consistently.
He is a Test driver for Williams. But Given a Competitive car, I feel he can probably be a mid runner atleast ?
Your Comments Please ?

In Schumacher's case, he finished second, but it was Ferrari's refusal to renew his contract and plump for Kimi Raikkonen that forced him to leave the circus.
Yet, for a man who leaves behind several controversies in a chequered career, the last act of 'parking' his Prancing Horse during qualifying at Monte Carlo will forever remain etched in memory. All the same, Formula One can never be the same without Schumacher - good, bad or ugly?

It is for 56 years that F1 is held .
Plese tell me which F1 race you love.and why?
By the way , I recommend France GP 1990.
Because, this race has a dramatic overtake at the end.
And Caperi adopted a strange strategy which he didn't change his tyres.

Personally I feel that he was so strong at Renault and that he had a good team behind him, he should have stayed. I think McLaren will benefit from him but they have a lot to do to be at the standard Alonso would be accustomed to.

We all know that Jean Alesi overtook Senna in a sensational move in his first Grand prix. At the end of 3 races he had offers from Williams than a top team, Ferrari and Mclaren. He debuted with Tyrell.
5 years he spent at Ferrari were probably with their worst cars and I still remember him outdrive M.S in Hockenheim on a wet track in a Ferrari which was clearly B grade.
He joined Benetton as M.S left Benetton with Ross Brawn and the brillaint tech staff who helped Benetton wins its WC.
It still took 3 years for M.S with his own Tech team at Ferrari to win the WC.
I saw a 32 year old Jean Alesi put his Sauber on the podium in the Wet ? Can anyone beat that ?
So if Jean had joined Williams instead of Ferrari ! How many World titles would he ahve won ?

Tyre war is now over, but you don't hear about "Fuel wars"
I remember Michael saying in one of the post-race interviews how Shell had come up with a new fuel which gave him "extra horsepower" Shell, Castrol, Mobil, etc....what constituents are regulated by FIA and what are the differences between fuel brands that give variation in performance?
