For me its Tom Pryce. He was a flat out, great driver. He was a driver for a mid-pack kind of team, Shadow F1. He supposedly had an offer from Lotus to come drive for them, but turned it down. Very loyal if you ask me. In 1975, at the race of champions at Brands Hatch, he beat the likes of James Hunt, Jody Schecktor, Niki Lauda, etc. Again, with inferior equipment. He was a very quiet guy, which compared to alot of the drivers of that era is pretty unique. Also, he was from Wales. I believe besides him the only other driver to come from wales was alan rees. But Tom was the better of the two for sure. I myself am an american, and by all counts should have picked mario andretti, but i think If Tom Pryce would have not been killed in 1977, he would have won a few championships at least. He was only 27 when he died in a freak accident at Kyalami, South Africa. RIP Tom Pryce!
