Auto Racing - February 2007

His Toyota Camry was impounded over the weekend when a NASCAR official noticed an "unusual substance" inside the intake manifold that was not believed to be oil. Waltrip swears if it's anything, it's motor oil.
Any ideas on what it could be? Maybe a congealed nitromethane or something like that?

NASCAR say's they want to grow the sport,will they just manage to blowed it up, and drive fans away? The qualifying process for the Daytona 500 is enough to make Albert Einstein scratch his head!!!

Come on, get real.. no one with half of a funtioning brain thinks its a sport... "OH WOOEEE.. look at that there jimbo.. he made another left turn!! YEEHAW" pathetic.. its more of a sport driving in rush hour traffic every day to work and back. Now, if it was anything like FOX they portray's it on their commercials, THAT would be worth watching. Tracks to the moon, doing loop-de-loops, in and out of cities, hairpin turns, death defying jumps.. ect ect. If it was like THAT it would be worth watching.. but still not a sport.. get real.

Cars don't all start at the same point - some are way behind others. They also pull off for pit stops - but they are expected to all finish at the same time correct? How do they compensate for start delays and side times? Even if side times are excluded - presumably a good car and pit crew can minimize pit stops - how do they at least compensate for the start?

I 'm gonna quit watching NASCAR if the BS doesn't stop. Gee, I'm sure everyone cheats. Seems like every year @ Daytona there is some kind of drama and I'm tired of it. I can't believe Michael Waltrip is that stupid, his first yr in Toyota. Lets go back to the old way of racing. This is getting ridiculous!!!

in the first movie Fast and the Furious there was a "race " on a straight street. Apparently yhe winner was called "really good driver" I don't see why, can you explain. Everybody can sit in a car, turn the engine on, push the accelerator.

With as outspoken as he was about Toyota do you think they are targeting him? Here's another one, if they (NASCAR officials) knew about the wheel deal on the 9 and 17 cars the night before, stated in a story at FOXsports, why would they wait until AFTER qualifying to point out the infractions when they caught the 10 and 19 car's BEFORE qualifying? Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm.
