All these drivers on race day are pretty equal it just depends on the type of adjustments that are made to the car during the race and the weather and their qualifying spot in the race. Some of these answers I am biased on because I am fans of the drivers personally.

1. Gordon... My favorite Driver
2. Harvick.... I am fans of both drivers but Jr. hasnt been doing so well lately, and after Harvick's seasons last year, he's pretty good.
3. Hamlin.. I am a Hendrick Fan but absolutely hate the Busch brothers, and I'm not a fan of Hamlin but he had better success then Kyle Busch did last year.
4. Michael Waltrip... We never hear anything about Petty anymore, he will never be anything like his dad was, and he has kind of lost all his ability since his son died a few years ago, that has taken alot of out him as a driver, but Michael is good he just wont be as good as his brother Darrell ever was.

1. Tony Stewart is in a bit of a hot streak. However, Jeff Gordon has the overall talent, skill, and experience to beat him. The better driver would be Gordon.
2. Dale Jr. is overrated. He just recently broke through as a threat after years of being a driver. He is only famous for his father, The Great Dale Earnhardt. Harvick has great skill and I see him beating Jr. any time. I like Dale, but I just don't see him ever winning a championship unless he improves.
3. Two young guns duking it out, that's fun. Kyle Busch seems way too wild. He doesn't have the born skill to win now. He needs to do a bit of conditioning. Hamlin has natural talent and can beat Busch in a race.
4. Wow, toughest question here because I can't find a weakness with any of these two experienced drivers. If they were to go one-on-one I would have to guess that Kyle Petty would win this one. But I have to say it could go either way with those two, very well-known, developed and experienced talents..

Hehe long answer ..

1. As much as I don't like him, it would be Gordon.
2. Junior, Harvick seems to be more of a fluke.
3. Hamlin, more willing to put it all on the line.
4. Petty - did more rubbin' while racing, and stayed in race contention.
