I mean, it is by far THE best sport of all. And yet I heard that the recent NHL All Star game had fewer viewers (less than 500,000)than a rerun of the Andy Griffith show on TvLand!!!!

It is by far the most watchable sport of the Big 4. Baseball drags on and the delays boooooore me... in basketball there's so much scoring that scoring points is actually devalued... football, ehh, never did much for me. But hockey--what a game!

Hockey has goalies. Goalie is the best/coolest position in sports, period!
Is that old stereotype true--that Southerners can't see the puck when watching a hockey game and so lose interest?
Or do most Americans hate hockey because most Americans hate Canadians (and Canadians do dominate the sport)?

Im not sure I can sort of see it working but im more towards the side of it not working as the new compounds are harder to start with and therefore are going to be slower to start with especially the softs

Having lived in the US my whole life, the sport is not something that had caught my interest. I generally saw it as something little kids play and you don't pay too much attention to. Last summer during the World Cup, I took a trip to Italy. I was able to see the glory and passion that makes this sport so great. I have been excited to start playing ever since even though I have never touched a football (soccer) ball until now. What are some tips or suggestions to a new player?

Of the new ballparks (since 2000), what has been the best and worst you visited? Why?
The best - Milwaukee. I did not think I would like it with the retractable roof, but it has a certain flair to it. Great views from all around. Great prices also.
The worst - Philly. Bad location of scoreboard. Small areas to move around and much too crowded. Bad parking also.

I would have respect for the Mexican team if they acted like MEN, not bratty little boys, and respectfully acknowledged their defeat and then shook the hands of the U.S. team members. There is no shame or dishonor in losing if you give it your best. But no... these players had to act like children. I remember very well when Mexican fans were spitting at the American players in the past.
I mean, talk about primitive people! No wonder their country is poor, corrupt, dependent on 'outside' (read: AMERICAN) assistance, and utterly hopeless, if that is how primitive and pathetic its people act!

I love soccer... my boyfriend played it for many years, and he taught me about the game. But most Mexicans would probably say that a girl shouldn't follow soccer, right?
