C'mon hockey fans, we all know we have the best fans in all of sports. but let's face it, even NASCAR markets it's sport better than hockey (yikes!!!). WHY? i'd love to hear some great ideas you might have on how the NHL can better market it's players, and it's game. and NO YOU CAN NOT SAY "MORE FIGHTING". please give serious and thoughtful answers

For one the sport is no contact sport; if you run into someone too hard you get a penalty (or card as it is termed) then the rest of the game is kicking the ball up and down the field for 80+ boring minutes. I mean 3 goals total in one game is considered a high scoring game, that is pathetic. Then for those guys who make the comment that hockey players are wimps for wearing padding have a mental deficency that rivals Rainman. I would love to see these so called tough soccer players take a 60+ MPH (assuming we are talking amateur; 90+ if pro) slapshot anywhere on there body from a solid RUBBER puck and then come talk to me about not using pads. Yeah, cause taking a shot from a Leather, soft core soccer at 40+ (60+ pro) MPH kick really hurts more, thats ******* histerical. Then, i think i saw someone say that you dont need to wear pads to check. once again you go strap on some skates and take a check at full speed and let me know how it was after you wake up from your coma. SOCCER SUCKS!

Otsuka for Brent Myers. Phillies are desperate for a setup man. Otsuka is unhappy here in Texas. We need 1 more reliable pitcher to become playoff contender. Why not offer Otsuka and Jason Botts for Myers? Phillies are looking to unload him. Millwood, Padilla, Myers, McCarthy, Wright sounds like a respectable rotation.

I was pulling for Brian Rolston with 2 goals (two slapshot goals no less!) and 2 assists (also +5, many shots... whatever). But I figured Rick Nash would win it also with 2Gs and 2As and he also played well and was always a presence. Does anyone disagree with Daniel Briere? So what with all the assists? He was on the losing team!

I understand cheering and having game parties...supporting your teams..wearing their colors...

but what's the point in going to the extreme with criticizing others and carrying on and on about how good your team is and who they're going to beat, how many times they're going to beat them, and just plain and simple making a fool of yourself while doing all of this....

it's just recently been brought to my attention by the overwhelming amount of vain bears fans...and i understand every team has their horrible fans, though.

guess its a guy thing...
