I read recently that the percentage of African-American males in the MLB is declining. (That does not include latin players such as Vlad Geurrero) Why do young African-American males not have as much of an interest in the sport as they used to? Is it the NFL or the NBA?

My point of this is this. Major League Baseball has created baseball acadamys in Latin America and the Pacific Rim. In a place where soccor is king, baseball has flourished. Now, what if baseball would open baseball schools in Europe and gave kids a chance to play the great game and see how much fun the game could be. Would baseball make some noise?
