He is retiring at the end of the season, and will make a comeback in 2 to 3 years time with another team. Possibly with BMW-Sauber or Red Bull or even Germany-based Toyota. It appears that he is waiting for these teams to "mature" into championship-winning forces. With impending retirements of Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, he believes that Ferrari will struggle to be at the sharp end of F1 in the next few years, thus the "sabbatical" Have you heard this one? Me neither, I just made it up. Gotcha, didn't I? If he was a little younger, it may not be such a bad idea though..
