Soliman is a pretty solid fighter...A worthy challenger to any of the paper champs or Jermain Taylor right now. He is currently ranked #5 in the Ring Magazine ratings...

He has wins everywhere from cruiserweight on down, fighting solid guys like Siko Bika, Anthony Mundine, Howard Eastman, Raymond Joval and more recently one of boxing's best fighters Ronald Wright. In the Wright fight, he gave an excellent account of himself even with the loss. He just kept coming and in a way embrassed Wright a bit by not being stopped and landing a ton of shots on Wright's turtle shell defense.

Soliman has fought a few times on Fox Sports Net here in the US and the Wright bout was HBO televised, so he has a pretty solid name right now among hardcore fans.

I think Soliman would have been a better choice for WBC/WBO champion Jermain Taylor on November 25th rather than Kassim Ouma, who was talking about moving down to welterweight just a couple weeks ago. However, Soliman doesn't have as big a name and is far too easy to look bad against, hence Taylor fighting another junior middleweight.

Soliman seems like a genuine guy, who fights his tail off and is tough as nails. Personally, I would like to see him get a shot at the IBF title fight between champion Artur Abraham and Edison Miranda, which takes place in couple weeks or a shot at the other paper title out there, the WBA.
